Kim Jong Un Attends Missile Test

Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n) attended and personally guided what the DPRK claimed to be the successful “test-fire of inter-continental ballistic rocket Hwasong-14” on the morning [NKST] of July 4 (Tuesday). Jong Un authorized the missile test on July 3, which is commemorated as Strategic Force Day in the DPRK.
The test launch occurred near munitions factories in and around Panghyo’n, Kuso’ng, North P’yo’ngan and Jong Un inspected the mobile missile launcher prior to the test. Among those in attendance were Workers’ Party of Korea [WPK] Munitions Industry Department Senior Deputy Director Ri Pyong Chol [Ri Pyo’ng-ch’o’l], Korean People’s Army [KPA] Strategic Force Commander Gen. Kim Rak Gyom [Kim Rak-kyo’m], Second Academy of Natural Sciences [SANS] President and WPK Munitions Industry Department Deputy Director Jang Chang Ha [Chang Ch’ang-ha], WPK Munitions Industry Department Deputy Director Yu Jin [Yu Chin], along with other senior personnel of the KPA Strategic Force, the Defense Science Academy, SANS and the Second Economic Committee [SEC; Second Economy Commission].
According to a report issued by the Defense Science Academy, the Hwasong-14 missile made a “39 minute flight along its pre-set trajectory before accurate hitting the target waters in the open sea in the East Sea of Korea [Sea of Japan]” and that the missile “flew 933 km [580 miles] reaching an altitude of 2,802 km [9,192,914 feet].” According to the Defense Science Academy the missile was “was carried out at the maximum angle launch system and had no adverse effect on the security of neighboring countries.” After the test launch, Kim Jong Un “declared before the world its shining success.” The Defense Science Academy also noted that:
The success in the test-fire of inter-continental ballistic rocket Hwasong-14, final gate to rounding off the state nuclear force, at just one go is a powerful manifestation of the invincible state might and the tremendous capability of the self-reliant national defense industry of Chuch’e Korea that has advanced at a remarkably rapid pace under the great Workers’ Party of Korea’s new line on the simultaneous development of the two fronts, and a great auspicious event to be specially recorded in the history of the DPRK which has long craved for powerful defense capabilities.
As a full-fledged nuclear power that has been possessed of the most powerful inter-continental ballistic rocket capable of hitting any part of the world, along with nuclear weapons, the DPRK will fundamentally put an end to the US nuclear war threat and blackmail and reliably defend the peace and stability of the Korean peninsula and the region.
